NAB to challenge acquittal of Qamarul Islam in Saaf Pani Company case

ISLAMABAD (National Times) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to challenge the Accountability Court decision pertaining to the acquittal of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former MPA Qamarul Islam Raja and 16 others in Saaf Pani Company case in the Lahore High Court, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.

The NAB spokesperson said that an appeal will be filed in the Lahore High Court as per law as soon as a copy of the decision is received against the verdict of Accountability Court.

An accountability court had acquitted former PML-N MPA and a former Punjab Saaf Pani Company (PSPC) chairman Raja Qamarul Islam and 15 other accused on Monday in a Rs245 million corruption reference.
