Opposition has no courage to listen to govt: Hammad Azhar

ISLAMABAD (National Times) – Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar on Friday has said that the opposition parties have no courage to listen to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

Addressing the members in National Assembly (NA), the minister said that we heard hour long ‘Pakistan Studies’ lecture of the opposition. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) bankrupted the country and achieved only 5.4% growth, he added.

Meanwhile, he also categorically stated that gas theft will not be tolerated in any part of the country.

Responding to a calling attention, he expressed satisfaction that Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited has significantly reduced its system losses from 12.5 percent to 8.5 percent over the last three years.

He said there is a need to bring further improvement in Sui Southern Gas Company Limited. He pointed out that the country’s gas reserves are depleting at the rate of nine percent annually.

Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar introduced before the house the Private Power and Infrastructure Board Amendment Bill, 2022.

Responding to the minister, PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal said that we are forced to listen to each and every ineligible minister of PTI government.

While speaking in NA, Ahsan Iqbal said those who cannot even provide gas to the people are standing here talking about the country’s economic conditions.
