Masses will directly fight for their rights in Mehangai March: Fazlur Rheman

ISLAMABAD (National Times) – Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chairman and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Moulana Fazlur Rehman said on Wednesday that the Mehangai March will be held on March 23 and the masses will directly fight for their rights.

Talking to media in Islamabad on Wednesday flanked by Leader of Opposition in National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim Legaue-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehabz Sharif, he said that the mini-budget introduced by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government will bring a new wave of inflation in the country.

The JUI-F chief said that mini-budget will enslave the country’s economy to international organisations, adding that we wanted to keep our economy independent.

Fazlur Rehman went on to say that the law is being passed on international pressure and the Mehangai March against the incumbent government on March 23 is more important.

Speaking on the occasion, the PML-N president said that he had not met Maulana for a long time and only met during the PDM meetings.

He congratulated Fazlur Rehman on defeating PTI in phase of local government elections in Khyber Pakhtukhwa.

The opposition leader went on to say that the country is going through the most difficult period and facing economic and diplomatic challenges, adding that the government has economically devastated the 220 million people.

Shehbaz said that the matters regarding no-confidence motion were also discussed and will be decided after consultation.
