ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) while summoning complete details of construction and land of Dadhochya dam from Advocate General (AG) Punjab has issued notice to Punjab government, Bahria town and DHA in contempt of court case for selling the dam land by making plots.
A two members bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmad took up the case for hearing Friday.
During the hearing of the case the petitioner Col (Retd) Muhammad Tariq Kamal told the court construction work on dam is underway but Bahria town and DHA are selling the dam land .
The CJP questioned dam is being constructed then the court can do what.
The petitioner told the court dam is being constructed and on the other hand plots are being sold out as well. The societies are involving the money of people by carving out plots in the areas where the water of dam is deposited.
The CJP remarked so much is being done then chief secretary is doing what.
The petitioner told the court he had sent letters repeatedly but chief secretary has taken no steps.
CJP remarked the court will do what. Those who are constructing dam will see such matters.
The court summoned the full details of the construction and land of the dam, issued notice to Punjab government, Bahria town and DHA and adjourned the hearing of the case for indefinite time.
