What happened in the house not good omen for democracy: Speaker NA

ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly (NA) Asad Qaisar has said the incidents occurred in the house are deplorable as what has happened in the house is not good omen for the democracy.

“ I say to treasury and opposition benches to talk courteously. I have only moral power and I can not throw away any one hither and thither. Tabling no trust motion against the deputy speaker is right of opposition”, he said this while addressing a press conference in parliament house on Thursday.

It is my full endeavor house should run as per rules and regulations. The MNAs should not trample the sanctity of the house. It is my full endeavor to run the house in befitting way, I have only moral power which is all before you. I am not partial. It is my responsibility to give equal chance to opposition and treasury members to speak in the house, he remarked.

The most of chaos took place after my leaving the house. I have watched videos of the chaos, he said adding the members of parliament have to set traditions for the people. We have to see what traditions we leave for our children. I met Prime Minister Imran Khan a day before. Later I talked to Shahbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto. I am still in contact with the opposition. I want we all should together run the house as per rules, he remarked.

My resignation is opposition desire, he said adding the assembly has mandated me to run the house. I will continue to work as per my mandate. The government should demonstrate utmost responsibility. PM has not stopped me from initiating action against any one. We are making efforts that some solution of the problem is found. Parliamentary decorum be respected in the house.

In an informal talk with the journalists after press conference he said I decided to take action against the seven members of assembly after watching the video. I have no personal grudge or enmity with any one.
