Punjab govt committed for 100 pc literacy rate with aid of private sector: Rashid

Islamabad: Punjab’s Minister for Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education Department Raja Rashid Hafeez Saturday said that government is committed to reach 100 pc literacy rate; however, without partnership of private sector we cannot turn the dream into reality.
Rashid was addressing a ceremony to distribute school kits among the children of rice Trans planters.
He said that the government will make new MOUs with the private sector so that we could make collective efforts to bring out of school children into schools/literacy centers and raise literacy rate.
He further added that the government has launched the Friends of Literacy project under which the resourceful persons and organizations can support the children of poor and literacy centers by providing necessary aides.
