ISLAMABAD: Interior minister Sheikh Rashid while expressing concern over attacks on police in federal capital has said terror related incidents in Islamabad are on rise.
He tweeted Friday” The terror related incidents are on rise in Islamabad since some time back. We are concerned over attacks on police in Islamabad. One constable and one head constable were martyred on the night between Thursday and Friday. The number of police martyrs has reached 9 in our tenure.
He stated that 150 motorcycle eagle squad will be set up during this week to make Islamabad safe city.
I am going to South and North Waziristan on two days visit to see border management. We are erecting fencing on open borders with Afghanistan which will be completed within two months, he indicated. Fencing will be completed on Afghanistan and Iran borders by the end of the year, he added.
He underlined that it is desire of Imran Khan government such a system be introduced on all borders which contains electronic entry and exit points.
