Pakistan pours good wishes as ‘Pakistan stands with India’ imbues all over twitter

Islamabad: Twitter in Pakistan trends with “Pakistan stands with India” since health system in India collapses as Covid-19 gets out of control.
Daily coronavirus death toll and infections in India, which is in the grip of a rampaging second wave of the pandemic, have passed new world records as the government battled to get oxygen supplies to hospitals overwhelmed by the hundreds of thousands of new daily cases – Al Jazeera reported on Saturday.
“India recorded over 3.46 lakh new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours ending 8 am Saturday. The rapid uptick in new cases has taken India’s total infection count to over 1.66 crore. Out of these, over 25.52 lakh cases are currently active while over 1.38 crore people have recovered after testing positive. With 2,624 new fatalities the death toll is now over 1.89 lakh”, Indian based newspaper ‘The Indian Express’ reported on Saturday.
According to Al Jazeera, Authorities scrambled anew on Saturday to supply medical oxygen to Indian hospitals where COVID-19 patients were suffocating amid low supplies.
“India has hit a rate of one COVID-19 reported death every four minutes in New Delhi as the capital’s underfunded health system buckled.
India’s disastrous surge in pandemic seems to be bringing people of both the countries closer. Pakistan’s twitter Saturday trended with ‘Pakistan stands with India’, with recovery wishes from Pakistan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan Saturday tweeted, “Our prayers for a speedy recovery go to all those suffering from the pandemic in our neighborhood & the world. We must fight this global challenge confronting humanity together”
From Prime Minister’s cabinet members to common social media users, Pakistanis are expressing their solidarity with neighbors. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Saturday tweeted “We express our support to the people of India in the wake of the current wave of #COVID19 infections that has hit our region hard. On behalf of the people of Pakistan, I extend our heartfelt sympathies to the affected families in #India.”
Situation is not much different in Pakistan as Pakistan reported 157 deaths from COVID-19, highest to date as the number of positive cases has surged to 790,016. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 16,999 on Saturday.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 5,908 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
