No society can progress without increased literacy rate: NA speaker

Islamabad(National Times): National Assembly’s speaker Asad Qaisar on World literacy day has said that no society can make progress without increased literacy rate, adding that current government is taking effective steps to surge the ratio of literacy rate in Pakistan.
Asad Qaiser said that education is pivotal for development and prosperity of country. Maximizing literacy rate and providing quality education to children is current government’s vision, he added.
Speaker NA said that it is necessary to create awareness among masses to increase literacy rate. All the stake holders will have to sit together and work to encourage education.
He said that Single National Curriculum is a commendable step taken by the government. Implementation of Single National Curriculum will help increase literacy rate, he added.
